Brian Brockway

is a founder of the company and serves as President, CEO, and Chairman. He has more than 25 years experience in the medical device industry including time at CPI/Guidant and Transoma Medical. Mr. Brockway holds both a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota and serves on the advisory boards of two University of Minnesota Departments as well as several non-profit organizations.

Brent Ahrens

is a General Partner with Canaan Partners where he focuses on investments in life sciences companies. Prior to joining Canaan, Mr. Ahrens worked for General Surgical Innovations and Ethicon Endo-Surgery (J&J) in a variety of sales, marketing, business development, and technical roles. He also serves on the Boards of Coapt Systems, CoAxia, DexCom, Novare Surgical, and Peninsula Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Ahrens has a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Michael Berman

was formerly President of Boston Scientific/Scimed Division. During his tenure at BSC, Mr. Berman expanded the company's leadership in the interventional cardiology market with worldwide sales increasing from $300 million to $1.5 billion. In addition to serving on Transoma Medical's Board, Mr. Berman currently serves on the Boards of several other medical firms including Myocor, CoAxia, Curon, Velocimed, Top Spin Medical, Aetherworks, Israel Seed Partners, Benechill, and Prospex. Mr. Berman holds a bachelors degree in Industrial and Labor Relations and an MBA from Cornell University.

Brian Chee

is a General Partner of Polaris Venture Partners where he focuses on investments in life sciences companies. Prior to joining Polaris, Mr. Chee served as Captain in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, during which time he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal with Valor for service during the Gulf War. In addition to Transoma Medical, Mr. Chee currently serves on the board of directors of Asthmatx, Archus Orthopedics, Botanical Laboratories, Free& Clear, Prospex Medical and UltraShape. Mr. Chee holds an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BS in engineering and economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

K. James Ehlen, M.D.

spent 13 years as a practicing physician in the areas of endocrinology before occupying a series of executive roles including Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Physicians Health Plan, CEO of Medica, President of the Allina Health System, and Chief Medical Officer of Humana. He has also served as Chairman of both the Health Forum Board and the VHA Foundation Board. In addition to Transoma Medical Mr. Ehlen is currently a member of the Board of Directors of two health care companies; Arizant Inc. and Health Fitness Inc.

B. Kristine Johnson

is a managing partner for Affinity Capital. Prior to joining Affinity Capital, Ms. Johnson was most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Medtronic, Inc. During her seventeen years at Medtronic she was also President and General Manager of Medtronic's Vascular business and its Tachyarrhythmia Management business. Prior to her time at Medtronic, she spent nine years in various executive positions at Cargill, Inc. Ms. Johnson received her BA from St. Olaf College. She serves on the Board of Directors of several Affinity portfolio companies as well as other for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Dick Nigon

has held a number of positions in public accounting and finance. He is currently the Director of Equity Corporate Finance for Miller Johnson Steichen Kinnard, an investment banking firm. He has held the position of Chief Financial Officer of Dantis, Inc., a web hosting company and held a number of positions with international accounting firm Ernst & Young, LLP from 1970 to 2000. While at Ernst & Young, he served as head of the Minneapolis/St. Paul entrepreneurial services group and was the coordinating partner on several publicly-traded companies in the consumer retailing and manufacturing industries. In addition to serving as a board member and audit committee chair of Transoma Medical, Mr. Nigon serves as a director of Restore Medical, Inc. and Vascular Solutions, Inc.
