Better data for over 20 years
Transoma Medical was founded in 1984 as Data Sciences International (DSI), a pioneer in the use of implantable wireless devices for monitoring and collecting physiological data in biomedical research.
Over the past twenty years, DSI has established itself as the leading provider of implantable, wireless, physiologic monitoring equipment for biomedical research applications, and a significant supplier of related data acquisition and analysis products.
Today, Transoma Medical is leveraging its core DSI technology, patent portfolio and biomedical research infrastructure to commercialize human clinical diagnostic systems. In January, 2005, Transoma Medical started a clinical trial of the LVP-1000*, the first human use, implantable wireless diagnostic device intended to be used for monitoring left ventricular pressure.
In October, 2007, Transoma Medical received FDA clearance for the Sleuth Implantable ECG Monitoring System — the first remote, wireless monitoring system available to capture long-term ECG data for diagnosing cardiac arrhythmias.
These devices are the first, in a series of future generation products from Transoma Medical, designed to provide timely, relevant information to help physicians optimize patient treatment.
